Surfer in Warsaw

Thursday was specially special this week. My Potato Point son arrived in Warsaw on Wednesday – wearing board shorts. His visit was something I’d never have predicted: leaving the surf in summer? Not a chance I would’ve said.

He did have warmer clothes with him, which he put on for the walk down to preschool in -7° sunshine.

This post is linked to Paula’s Thursday’s Special where the theme is Wintery. If you feel the need to chill have a look at other contributions here.

Oh, he must be so cold! I remember returning from Oz one December (and Broken Hill at that) and the change from 40 degrees to -7 degrees. Nearly finished me off as I managed to contract Hong Kong flu en route. Dreadful shock! I am glad to see he has brought some winter woollies with him. And this would be a fab entry for Paula’s Thursday Special today. Wintery.

I was just thinking that yo could link to Paula’s post and Jude got there first. But you could do many wintry posts couldn’t you? I must say I like the light that snow brings 🙂

So good to see him there with you. He looks a little like an alien, but in a good way 🙂 I bet the twins are impressed. Love that shot 🙂 🙂 Have fun!

I must have been half asleep when I saw this post, because I didn’t register that your son was with you, and I only saw the first photo. I think I’m losing the plot!

🙂 It looks wonderful with the snow. I am amazed how many English men still wear short trousers and only T-shirts when the temperature falls to 0°. Brrrrrrr ….

    • Initially he wasn’t going to tell us, but word got out. I’d probably have had a heart attack if he’d just knocked on the door. A huge surprise that he left home in summer for a Polish winter. I hope the snowboarding in Zakopane compensates – and of course his family. My grand daughter is in the air from Dubai now.

I googled Zakopane and it looks gorgeous, a little reminiscent of Austrian alpine scenery though the houses are a different style. I hope it lives up to expectations and that the whole family has a ball.
