Textured bricks / wooden flooring is actually the bench at the tram station opposite the apartment, so you are dead right about things looking more interesting when colour is removed! The black and shiny one is the oily water in the Motława in Gdańsk, multi-post-processed.
I experienced what would’ve been a double treat for you today: I travelled in a tram, which was showing images on its screen of trams in Warsaw – in a tunnel with all the requisite lights; against a sunset; moving along through light fog. Dunno why: International Tram Day? A celebration of Swiss investment in Polish transport? There were no words for me not to understand.
