Blame Paula’s Sunday b&w challenge for turning my mind to abstraction. She was helped along by the exhibition of Frank Stella abstracts on show at the Polin museum which is itself an architectural feast. These are all images of the staircase leading to the upstairs part of that exhibition, with a bit of drama and sharpening added with the help of Snapseed.

Wow! Reminds of your photos of the staircase of the Art Deco house Everglades at Leura in the Blue Mountains of NSW. And it sets me wondering what you might do with the interiors of the Sydney Opera House shells which house the main theatres. I suspect there might be some very dramatic results.

I remember Leura well. I just had an invitation to visit a BH friend who is now working there. Pity I can’t rush off NOW!! We’ve had some wonderful annual jaunts, haven’t we. Where next?

I’m thinking about it. We never did get to Broken Hill. Or Melbourne and Heide Museum of Modern Art. And what about Central Victoria, the gold rush towns? Even Nimmitabel and Bombala would be interesting. Lots of possibilities. Your thoughts?

I rather liked falling up those stairs too. 🙂 No idea why but the banisters reminded me of fountain pen tops. I think my brain’s tired. 🙂
