Walking across the sand at the lake at Gryżyna I found I was stepping through a thriving sand-meadow of tiny plants. Their delicacy was duplicated in their shadows, and I wondered about their chances of survival under hordes of summer feet.
With thanks to Jude and her wildflower challenge for May. Without it in the back of my mind I may not have noticed these beauties.
They are so dainty. I guess summer crowds will just walk all over them.

They certainly won’t be avoiding them. No room!

Love your sand-meadow denizens, Meg, especially the delicate, wispy one. Well observed! On your knees for these?

Always on my knees, at least metaphorically, when I photograph. It’s homage you know! But this time literally, and possibly semi-lying too.

You do make me smile, Meg! Did you have a good time with Jo?

A great time. I can’t get started today – I need her motivation. I’m eager to see our different accounts of yesterday.

Mine won’t be along for some time because I don’t have an ipad (you saw my camera Meg and know just how high tech I am). I can still send hugs by phone though.

Love your delicate sandy beauties, and they are often very tough plants – they need to be to cope with the sand!

Jo, I think! We hugged frequently on our own account, whenever we recognised the wonder of meeting, and exchanged hugs sent by a lot of you.
I’m not sure about sundew. That last one was very close up of the main plant I thought, but I could well be wrong. I can’t even catch a tram effectively!

I like the one that looks like little budlets best. Memories of giggling in long grass xxx
