Two weeks ago the winter air was shaped
By branches, empty lines against the sky.
Composer spring has filled the lines with notes:
Cascaded, trilled, in quick crescendo, draped
Those empty lines with blossom multiplied.
The buds, delighted by their tunes marked out on bars,
Erupt in blossom filling every space,
A rousing symphony of leaves and flowers.
Spring just seems to keep giving there in Poland What a delight.

It’s so dark fervent (dark fervent has possibilities, but I think I meant different!) to Australia, and it helps to have a companion who’s dedicated to plant ID and ravenously curious about plants. At home he was my rainforest guru..

What a lovely ode to Spring, in both words and dazzling pictures, Meg!

It was an attempt at a San San (repeated images and a specific rhyme scheme) but I don’t take kindly to rhyme or structure, so it’s a wobbly something. It was fun trying to make words do roughly what I wanted though.

I like the subtle rhyming, I prefer it to a full on rhyme scheme, that kind always sounds too cheesy for me. And it goes without saying that the photos are wonderful, particularly the white flowers this time.
More poetry please 🙂

Those white flowers, whatever they are, have an amazing perfume and an attraction for dogs and little boys with balls. Thank you for your comments on rhyme scheme – I felt I was being a bit lazy, in the real sense: not your “lazy poet” sense. She always produces tiny miracles.

It’s one extravaganza Australia lacks. I’m glad I can offer you a bit of vicarious spring.
